Pharma Fest is a celebration of advancements in the pharmaceutical industry, bringing together professionals, researchers, and students. This annual event brings together the future of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Dhaka University Pharma Club organizes this 2-day-long fest every year to nurture the next generation of pharmaceutical professionals from all around Bangladesh. The event includes segments where young research enthusiasts and budding professionals can present their skills. This educational and creative fest was divided into 4 segments: Olympiad, Speech Competition, Debate, and Poster Presentation.
Let me share some details about each of these segments.
Olympiad: This insightful segment began on the 2nd day of the fest. The first round was the typical 50-question quiz where students had 20 minutes to tick out the right answers to qualify for the final round. The second round was wholesome as it had several stages like spelling bee, guess the disease, and buzzer round. This entire segment was arranged to nurture the knowledge of medicine among pharmacy students.
Speech Competition: For the students to be vocal about the latest information and solutions for future challenges in the pharma sector, this was one of the unique segments of the fest. Students were given an intense topic and were asked to speak about it for 5 minutes in the primary selection round. The 10 best speakers qualified for the final round, each given a unique topic to speak about.
Debate: This brainstorming segment has enlightened the entire fest. Every team gave their best to establish their standpoints and sustain the logical flow of the topics. The primary rounds were held on day 1 and the final round was held on day 2.
Poster Presentation: Here comes the last segment of the fest. This segment was divided into two categories: Review-based and Research-based poster presentation. Students and research enthusiasts participated in this segment, showcasing their analytical skills and presenting them to the judges, explaining the entire poster within 3 minutes followed by a 2-minute Q&A round.
As a participant myself, I participated in poster presentation segment's review-based category, teaming up with one of my friends. The entire journey from selecting the topic to presenting it in front of the judges was definitely a lifetime experience. As we both were freshers, it was overwhelming for us to compete among a lot of seniors. But the things we learned from this fest are invaluable, and we felt we were fortunate enough to gain such valuable knowledge.
After all the segments came to an end, the closing ceremony began in the evening where the honorable guests shared their views and insights of the fest. The organizing committee of this amazing fest had done a great job right from planning to execution. The winners from every segment were awarded crests, certificates, and prize money. Also, the rest of the participants were provided appreciation and encouragement to carry on their good work.
Such a fest highlights and fosters togetherness, unity, motivation, inspiration, innovation, and development among the near future of the pharmaceutical sector. This gathering also propels pharmaceutical progress, ensuring a healthier future through shared expertise and knowledge.
